More about Yamaha CFX!

The Yamaha CFX is Yamaha’s most ambitious concert grand piano: a 275 cm instrument built entirely by hand, note by note, by the master craftsmen of the Concert Piano Workshop in Kakegawa, Japan — a separate manufacturing section within the factory dedicated exclusively to concert instruments. The CFX concept is ‘Beauty and Power’. Beauty, for its extraordinary range of tonal colors and ability to create the most subtle musical voices. Power, for its overwhelming tonal presence, capable of filling the largest concert halls and making itself heard over a full symphony orchestra in any register. Each component of the CFX is individually selected, shaped, and regulated. The frames are sand-cast at the Iwata factory by master metalworkers whose work directly influences the tonal character of the instrument. The hammers are made of high-density German felt, molded at the ideal temperature and connected to walnut cores for maximum energy transfer. The CFX is the instrument found in the hands of today’s most important concert pianists and in their rehearsal rooms. Its sound samples are used in the top-of-the-line Disklavier pianos and the N1X AvantGrand — the benchmark level for all Yamaha production.
