The Yamaha S5X takes the qualities of the SX series to a new level, with its 200 cm length providing a wider acoustic chamber that results in superior harmonic richness and bass power compared to the S3X. It shares with the S3X the revolutionary A.R.E. treatment on the hoops, the hand-selected European Spruce soundboard, and the reinforced back post structure. But the instrument’s longer scale allows the S5X to achieve extreme dynamics with total tonal control, filling recital halls and medium-sized stages with authority. The materials are the same used in Yamaha’s CFX concert line: hammer felt with exclusive SX Series formula, hand-wound bass strings, and V-Pro frame. The almost entirely handcrafted assembly by experts in Kakegawa ensures individual consistency and quality in each instrument.
