More about Yamaha N1X AvantGrand!
The Yamaha N1X AvantGrand is the ultimate expression of Yamaha’s hybrid philosophy: an instrument that defies the line between acoustic and digital. Its mechanics are literally the same as those used in professional acoustic grand pianos—same hammers, same mechanisms, same parts—with the difference that optical sensors replace the strings in capturing touch.
VRM (Virtual Resonance Modeling) technology recreates in real time the sympathetic resonance of all 88 strings of an acoustic piano, including the pedal effect and the interaction between notes. The 4-channel speaker system is arranged to simulate the sound propagation of a real soundboard. The TRS (Tactile Response System) reproduces in the hands and feet the physical vibration felt in an acoustic piano.
Sound samples were collected from 4 positions on the soundboard of Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial pianos. The binaural mode recreates the 3D sensation of playing a live acoustic piano through headphones. Full connectivity: Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, and compatibility with the Smart Pianist app.
